Cowboys Acquire WR Brandin Cooks from Texans

After much debate about which receivers the Cowboys would be adding to their offense, a decision has finally been made. Dallas has traded their 2023 5th round pick and 2024 6th round pick to Houston in exchange for WR Brandin Cooks. The Cowboys were looking for another WR to pair with Gallup, even exploring other trade opportunities for DeAndre Hopkins and exploring signing Odell Beckham Jr. Instead, they take a shot on the former 2014 first-round pick from Oregon State. Cooks had a bit of a down year, only putting up 699 yards and three touchdowns on 57 catches in thirteen games last season. Before that, Cooks had six seasons where he surpassed 1,000 receiving yards. With this trade, Brandin Cooks ties Eric Dickerson for most times traded in a career (4) after starting out with New Orleans from 2014-16, then New England in 2017, the Los Angeles Rams in 2018-19, and with Houston from 2020-22.

Steelers Land Former Eagles Guard Isaac Seumalo

The Steelers will no longer have to worry about Kenny Pickett taking too many sacks. Eagles guard Isaac Seumalo has agreed to a three-year, $24 million deal with Pittsburgh, taking one of the best guards in free agency off the board. Last season was the first time Seumalo was able to play a full NFL season since 2019 after injuries shortened his 2020 and 2021 campaigns. The Eagles drafted him in the third round back in 2016, but he didn’t become a regular starter for them until 2018. Seumalo is regarded as one of the top guards in the NFC and will now be moving over to the AFC to start at left guard for the Steelers.

Bengals Sign Former Rams Safety Nick Scott

After four seasons with the Rams, safety Nick Scott is signing a three-year, $12 million contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals lost both of their star safeties this offseason (Vonn Bell, Jessie Bates III) and found another starter from the NFC West to replace them. Scott is coming off a big year, recording 86 combined tackles, 56 solo tackles, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions in seventeen games with Los Angeles. Scott will take over the strong safety spot for the Bengals and is starting alongside Dax Hill in the secondary.

Chiefs Add Another Starter, Sign Former Bucs Safety Mike Edwards

Kansas City continues to add help on defense, signing Bucs safety Mike Edwards to a one-year, $3 million contract with a max of $5 million with incentives. Edwards is coming off his best season, notching 82 combined tackles, 52 solo tackles, a sack, and two interceptions in thirteen games with Tampa Bay. Edwards will be thrown into a starting role at free safety for the Chiefs defense.

Chiefs Sign Former Chargers LB Drue Tranquill

Kansas City is adding a new linebacker to their defense, signing LB Drue Tranquill to a one-year, $5 million contract. Tranquill had five other teams pursuing him, but ultimately chose to sign with the Chiefs. Tranquill had a breakout season that nearly saw him earn a Pro Bowl nomination. The 27-year-old recorded 146 combined tackles, 95 solo tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception in seventeen games with Los Angeles last season. Tranquill will serve as a rotational starter in a talented linebacker group that features Willie Gay Jr. and Nick Bolton.

Seahawks Continue Spending Spree, Sign Former Giants Safety Julian Love

After spending his first four seasons in New York, Safety Julian Love is signing a two-year, $12 million deal with the Seahawks. Love had a career year with the Giants last season, collecting 124 combined tackles, 78 solo tackles, and two interceptions in 16 games. Love will likely serve as a backup to Quandre Diggs, but he has the ability to be flexed to a CB position.

Patriots Sign Former Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki

New England is signing TE Mike Gesicki to a one-year, $9 million contract. Gesicki spent the last five seasons with Miami but was ready to move on after some behind-the-scenes issues with the front office. Gesicki had over 2,600 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns in those five seasons and looks to add that scoring ability to the Patriots offense.

Seahawks Grab Former Steelers LB Devin Bush

The Seahawks are adding another starting LB to their front seven, signing Steelers LB Devin Bush to a one-year deal. Bush put up 81 combined tackles and 44 solo tackles last season with Pittsburgh. He’ll be working with a deep LB group featuring Uchenna Nwosu, Jordyn Brooks, and Boye Mafe.

Eagles Find New Backup QB, Sign Former Falcons QB Marcus Mariota

Philadelphia may have lost Gardner Minshew II to the Colts, but the Eagles did not wait long to find a replacement. Falcons QB Marcus Mariota is signing a one-year, $5 million contract that can be worth up to $8 million. Mariota played 13 games last season for Atlanta, throwing for 2,219 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. He finished with a 5-8 record before an injury would push him to the bench, subsequently ending his season.

Rams Re-Sign Guard Coleman Shelton

The Rams have re-signed starting guard Coleman Shelton to a two-year, $8.75 million contract with $3.75 million guaranteed. Shelton, a former undrafted free agent, has been with the Rams for three seasons but earned the opportunity to start in 13 games last season for Los Angeles and will look to continue serving an important role on the offensive line protecting Matthew Stafford.

Eagles Bring in CB Depth, Sign Former Browns CB Greedy Williams

The Eagles made a crucial move in their secondary, adding Browns CB Greedy Williams to play backup to Darius Slay and James Bradberry. With both CBs over the age of 30, Philadelphia decided Williams would be a strong addition to their defense, allowing him to learn behind them. Williams is also 26 so he will have time to develop into a future starting corner for the squad when either Slay or Bradberry decide to retire or move on from the team.

Bears Add to RB Group, Sign Former Panthers RB D’Onta Foreman

The newest member of the Bears finished Top 20 in rushing yards last season and will be working with Khalil Herbert as the new running back duo in the NFC North. Former Panthers RB D’Onta Foreman is signing a one-year, $3 million contract with Chicago after taking over RB1 duties for Carolina last season following the CMC trade to San Francisco. Foreman rushed for 914 yards and five touchdowns on 203 carries in 17 games with the Panthers.

Bears Land Former Packers TE Robert Tonyan

Chicago is adding another TE into the rotation, signing former Packers TE Robert Tonyan to a one-year deal. In 17 games last season, Tonyan was a reliable receiving target as he made 53 receptions for 470 yards and two touchdowns. For the Bears, Tonyan will be working with Cole Kmet to make one of the best receiving tight end tandems in the league.

Colts Sign Former Eagles QB Gardner Minshew II

Indianapolis is adding former Eagles backup QB Gardner Minshew II on a one-year, $3.5 million fully guaranteed contract. Minshew had stepped into a starting role with the Eagles following an injury to Jalen Hurts late last season, throwing 663 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions in five games. With the likelihood the Colts will be drafting a quarterback, Minshew will serve as the backup and teach the young rookie about the difficultie of being a starter in the NFL.

Giants Re-Sign WR Darius Slayton

After stepping up for the Giants last season, WR Darius Slayton is returning to the Giants on a two-year, $12 million contract. Slayton put up 724 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 16 games played. New York saw significant improvement for Slayton after a lackluster 2021 campaign and recognize his importance to the roster, hence the new contract he’s receiving.

Browns Stocking Up on DL, Signing Former Cowboys DE Trysten Hill

Cleveland is adding another DL who will serve in another rotational role, signing former Cowboys and Cardinals DE Trysten Hill. The former second-round pick has struggled to find his footing since his arrival in the league back in 2019, but with the Browns, he will have a chance to learn and develop his game alongside Pro Bowl DE Myles Garrett. If all goes well, Hill could earn himself a long-term contract with a strong performance next season.

Lions Bringing Back a Familiar Face, Sign Former Broncos Guard Graham Glasgow

Detroit is having a reunion with one of their former draft picks, signing guard Graham Glasgow to a one-year, $4.5 million contract. Glasgow was selected in the third round by the Lions back in 2016 and served as a starting guard for them in his first four seasons before leaving for Denver in 2020. He returns to Detroit to become their starting guard once again.

Bears Sign Depth Piece on DL, Adding Former Raiders DT Andrew Billings

The Bears are adding some insurance on the defensive line, signing Raiders DT Andrew Billings to a one-year, $3.5 million contract with $2.4 million guaranteed. Billings put up the most combined tackles of his five-year career last season with the Raiders (39) and will serve in a rotational capacity as a run stopping DT, a serious position of need for Chicago who allowed the 2nd-highest rushing yards to opposing offenses last season (2,674).

Giants Add WR Help, Sign Former Colts WR Parris Campbell

New York is continuing to build their WR room around franchise quarterback Daniel Jones, signing Colts WR Parris Campbell to a one-year, $4.7 million contract with a possible max of $6.7 million. Campbell played his first full season as a starter with the Colts, serving as the WR2 alongside Michael Pittman Jr. The 25-year-old receiver put up the best numbers of his career with 623 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games with Indianapolis last season. The Giants will look to use his explosive speed to take over games and handle quick passes from Jones in tough passing situations.

Dolphins Agree to Sign Former Jets WR Braxton Berrios

The Dolphins are adding speed to their receiving group and to their special teams, signing Jets WR Braxton Berrios to a one-year contract. Berrios recorded his lowest receiving yard totals since 2019, putting up 145 yards in 17 games. Berrios saw a decreased role in the offense due to changes made at quarterback and the evolution of the younger receivers as starters. He will now join a quick and physical Miami receiving room that can use him in many ways similar to Tyreek Hill, although he may serve as his backup on the offense.

Patriots Re-Sign LB Mack Wilson

New England is bringing back LB Mack Wilson on a one-year, $2.2 million contract after having a solid year at the LB position. Although it wasn’t Wilson’s best year statistically, he was a reliable coverage guy who can make good plays when challenged. He put up 36 combined tackles and 1.5 sacks in 17 games. The Patriots want to see if they can expand his development further this season that gives them a reason to keep him with the team beyond next season.

Bucs Sign Former Broncos RB Chase Edmonds

After cutting RB Leonard Fournette as a cap casualty, the Buccaneers are signing Broncos RB Chase Edmonds to a one-year deal. Edmonds played a limited role last season for Miami, only rushing for 120 yards in eight games before being moved to Denver. He played five games with the Broncos and rushed for only 125 yards. Tampa Bay will look to use him in a tandem role with second-year RB Rachaad White as the Bucs look to place emphasis on creating a backfield centered around speed and elusiveness.

Steelers Sign Former Dolphins LB Elandon Roberts

Pittsburgh is adding more LB depth to their roster, signing Dolphins LB Elandon Roberts to a two-year deal. Roberts put up career-high numbers last season in combined tackles (107), solo tackles (68), and sacks (4.5). For a linebacker, these are very good numbers, showing how strong Roberts was in Miami’s run defense and blitz packages last season. The Steelers will look to use Roberts in a balanced role, but expect him to have an increased role in their pass rush.

Browns Sign Former 49ers DT Maurice Hurst

Cleveland is signing 49ers DT Maurice Hurst to a one-year deal, adding another defensive lineman to play in a rotational fashion up front. Hurst is coming off of a torn bicep that caused him to miss the entire 2022 season, but the intention is for Cleveland to not use him as a main starter. His strength is in run defense, but he will need to find ways to create havoc in the pocket for passing plays.

Bengals Land Four-Time Pro Bowl OT Orlando Brown Jr.

Cincinnati doesn’t have to worry about Burrow taking anymore sacks. The Bengals have agreed to sign Chiefs OT Orlando Brown Jr. to a four-year, $64 million contract. Brown Jr., 26, has already made some incredible achievements in his short time in the NFL with four Pro Bowl nominations in five seasons and a Super Bowl ring to go along with it. Cincinnati was in desperate need of pass protection with the offensive line allowing the 11th most sacks on Joe Burrow last season (44). This signing guarantees Burrow won’t be crushed like he has been in previous seasons.

Bears Find New Backup QB, Sign Former Panthers QB PJ Walker

Not only did the Bears grab the Panthers’ best receiver, but they also grabbed one of their starters from last season. QB PJ Walker reached an agreement to join the Chicago Bears to backup Justin Fields. Walker had the opportunity to play in six games last season for Carolina, putting up a 59.4 completion percentage, 731 passing yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions with a passer rating of 78.0. Although it wasn’t a pretty performance, Walker showed he can fill in as a decent backup for any team in need of quality quarterbacks. The Bears happened to be one of those teams.

Patriots Add RB James Robinson to Backfield

New England is adding a new running back to fill the void of losing Damien Harris in free agency. Former Jets and Jaguars RB James Robinson is signing a two-year, $8 million deal with the Patriots to work in the committee backfield with Rhamondre Stevenson. Robinson rushed for 425 yards and three touchdowns in his limited role with the Jets and Jaguars. Robinson rushed for over 1,000 yards in his rookie season with Jacksonville back in 2020, but has not been able to replicate that same level of success over the last two years. With New England, his role will increase as he will likely transition into a pass catching back like he was in his first two years with Jacksonville.

Vikings Retain RB Alexander Mattison

Minnesota is keeping one of the most coveted running backs in free agency for themselves. RB Alexander Mattison is signing a two-year deal worth $7 million with incentives that could push the total to $8 million. Mattison, 24, had a career low in rushing yards (283) and rushing attempts (74) this past season as the Vikings transitioned into a primary back system with Dalvin Cook. With this signing, there is a possibility Minnesota could be giving the primary back role to Mattison and moving on from Cook, opening up a more significant role for him in the offense.

Chargers Bring Back DE Morgan Fox

DE Morgan Fox is getting a two-year contract to return to the Los Angeles Chargers. Fox is coming off a career year when he achieved career-highs in sacks (6.5) and tackles (38). The Chargers needed a veteran to step up following their decision to waive Jerry Tillery, and Fox has proven to be the guy that can fill the role. Los Angeles will be making sure he sticks around and continues to develop into a player who consistently gets double-digit sacks.

Panthers Sign Former Eagles RB Miles Sanders

Carolina was looking for a solid feature back to have in their backfield and ended up with a former Eagles starter. RB Miles Sanders is signing a four-year, $25 million contract with the Panthers. Sanders, 25, finished last season with 1,269 rushing yards (5th in NFL) and had the second highest YPC (4.9) among players who had a minimum of 250 carries. Sanders has exploded onto the scene and the Panthers decided to sign the young running back to aid the run game that has fallen apart since the departure of CMC.

Saints Create New Lethal Backfield, Sign Former Lions RB Jamaal Williams

New Orleans should be going crazy right now, because the Saints just created the most lethal running duo in the league. Former Lions RB Jamaal Williams has signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Saints that includes $8 million guaranteed. Although the Saints have Pro Bowl RB Alvin Kamara, Williams is the perfect red zone and short yardage back that they need to score more touchdowns, especially in goal line situations. Williams, 27, rushed for 1,066 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns, the most in the league last season. With the best touchdown scorer in the league, the Saints offense is poised to become one of the highest scoring offenses in the league.

49ers Land Former Falcons CB Isaiah Oliver

San Francisco is adding a replacement for Emmanuel Moseley in the secondary, signing Falcons CB Isaiah Oliver to a contract. Oliver, 26, was drafted in the second round by Atlanta in 2018 and put up extraordinary numbers in 2019 and 2020. After a serious injury in 2021 ended his season, he has been unable to return to his old form, only getting 37 combined tackles in 12 games last season. The 49ers will try to use him in a rotational role, serving as a backup to Deommodore Lenoir and Charvarious Ward.

Browns Add Safety Help, Signing Former Chiefs Safety Juan Thornhill

Cleveland has released safety John Johnson III and finds a replacement in Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill, signing him to a three-year, $21 million contract with $14 million guaranteed over the first two years. Thornhill has been a leader and a real star in the Chiefs secondary over the last four years, snagging three interceptions this past season along with 71 combined tackles. The Browns have a general on defense that can make quick reads of audible plays and coordinate adjustments accordingly.

Raiders Will Re-Sign DT Jerry Tillery

Vegas is giving one of their big-name defenders a full year on the roster. DT Jerry Tillery has agreed to terms on a two-year, $7 million contract that keeps him with the Raiders. Tillery has been struggling to replicate the numbers from his 2021 campaign with the Chargers that saw him collect 4.5 sacks and 51 combined tackles. Tillery was waived by Los Angeles in November, but the Raiders claimed him and let him get some playing time on their line. Vegas liked what they saw from him and will be spending another year evaluating his performance.

Eagles Retain DT Fletcher Cox

Philadelphia has brought back another member of their terrifying defense from last season, coming to an agreement with DT Fletcher Cox on a one-year, $10 million contract. Cox, 32, had a big rebound year with seven sacks in 17 games last season, the most in one season for him since 2018. The Eagles know he had a big season, so they knew it was best to keep him in Philly for next season rather than let him leave for a team like the Jets.

Commanders Add Former Browns QB Jacoby Brissett

After losing Taylor Heinicke to the Falcons, the Commanders have signed a veteran quarterback to compete and mentor Sam Howell. Veteran QB Jacoby Brissett is signing a one-year, $8 million contract with Washington after taking over as the starter for Cleveland early last season.

Brissett had a strong statistical year as a starter last year, putting up 2,608 yards, 12 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 16 games played. He posted an 88.9 Passer Rating, 64.0% completion percentage, and finished with a record of 4-7 when most experts believed he would win less games. Brissett will try to compete for the starting job in Washington.

Dolphins Get Former Lions Safety DeShon Elliott

Lions safety DeShon Elliott is taking a small one-year, $1.77 million contract from the Dolphins. This is a bargain signing, given that Elliott had 96 combined tackles and 73 total tackles out of the safety position in 14 games with Detroit last season. With that level of production, getting Elliott for less than $2 million is a massive steal for Miami and he is going to cause havoc for opposing quarterbacks.

Colts Sign Former Browns DT Taven Bryan

Indianapolis is signing the Browns’ most underrated run prevention defensive tackle. DT Taven Bryan has come to an agreement with the Colts on a one-year, $4.5 million contract. Last season was Bryan’s best performance where he had the most sacks of his career and second-most combined and solo tackles. The Colts will likely use him as a rotational DT to see how much damage he can do.

49ers Add Former Raiders DE Clelin Ferrell

San Francisco is taking a shot on Raiders DE Clelin Ferrell, signing him to a one-year, $2.5 million deal. The 2019 first-round pick from Clemson has been unable to surpass five sacks in a single season due to his limited role on the defense. There were times where it seemed he was misused by Las Vegas, but he will get an opportunity to make a career comeback with the defensive powerhouse known as the 49ers.

Texans Sign Former Jets DT Sheldon Rankins

DT Sheldon Rankins is signing a one-year, $10.5 million contract with the Houston Texans after spending the last two seasons with the New York Jets. Drafted in the first round in 2016 by the New Orleans Saints, Rankins has gained a good reputation as a run-stopper, as opposed to a pass rusher. Last season, Rankins hit a career-high in combined tackles with 43 and hopes to bring the same level of intensity to Houston.

Patriots Adding Former Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster

Following the loss of WR Jakobi Meyers, the Patriots have signed WR JuJu Smith-Schuster to a three-year, $33 million contract. Smith-Schuster is a former Pro Bowl receiver (2018) coming off a revival season in Kansas City where he finished in the Top 25 for most receiving yards (933) and he had 12 yards per catch last season as the second-leading receiver on his team. With a Super Bowl ring on his resume, the Patriots could not pass up on the opportunity to grab a new WR1 for Mac Jones.

Ravens Re-Sign RB Justice Hill

Baltimore is going to bring back RB Justice Hill on a two-year, $4.5 million contract. Hill is one of the backs the Ravens use in their committee backfield. He ran for 262 yards on 49 carries in 15 games last season. His yards per carry (5.3) was seventh-best among RBs with a minimum of 48+ carries. Pairing a strong runner like Hill with J.K. Dobbins is what makes the Ravens one of the best rushing attacks in the league, and it will only get better if Lamar Jackson returns to the team.

Bucs Bring Back LB Lavonte David

After finding miraculous ways to create cap space, the Buccaneers have re-signed their defensive captain. LB Lavonte David is returning to the Bucs for his 12th season on a one-year, $7 million guaranteed contract. David, 33, has been one of the most underrated players in the league since he was drafted in 2012 by Tampa Bay. Last season, he continued putting up great numbers when he finished top 25 in the league in combined and solo tackles (124, 80) and started every game this season. David hopes to continue making a push for another championship with a Buccaneers team that is still recovering from the retirement of future Hall-of-Fame QB Tom Brady.

Bills Re-Sign Safety Jordan Poyer

What was once thought to be impossible has happened. Instead of departing Buffalo, safety Jordan Poyer has decided to return to the Bills on a two-year, $10 million deal. Poyer has been an anchor in the Buffalo secondary for the last six seasons and produced four interceptions and eight passes deflected in 2022. This was an important player to re-sign, and they got it done.

Bucs Sign QB Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay is officially turning into a QB experiment. Former #1 pick Baker Mayfield is signing with the Buccaneers on a one-year, $8.5 million deal. Mayfield, 27, spent last season with the Panthers and Rams, where he struggled to keep a starting job on both squads. Tampa is optimistic they can turn him into a franchise quarterback or, at the minimum, create competition for third-year QB Kyle Trask.

Saints Sign Former Chiefs DT Khalen Saunders

New Orleans gets their replacement for Shy Tuttle. DT Khalen Saunders has agreed to a three-year deal worth up to $14.5 million with the Saints. Saunders spent the last four seasons in Kansas City and earned strong playing time this year, where he put up 3.5 sacks and 48 total tackles in 16 games. New Orleans looks to use Saunders as a run-stopping interior lineman, similar to his role with the Chiefs.

Patriots Add Veteran OT Riley Reiff

New England has added another tackle in free agency, indicating a player could be moving on from them. Veteran OT Riley Reiff is expected to sign a one-year, $5 million deal with the Patriots. Reiff has been in the league since 2012 and is joining his third team in three seasons. He’s been a reliable tackle and could be a good asset for the Patriots to have in terms of depth.

Panthers Add Former Bengals TE Hayden Hurst

The Panthers needed another weapon for their offense, following the DJ Moore trade to Chicago, and they got their answer. TE Hayden Hurst has agreed to sign a three-year, $21.75 million deal with $13 million guaranteed to join Carolina and become TE1 on their roster. Hurst is a former first-round pick by the Ravens who has been moving around the league trying to build his name up. Recently, he’s been catching passes from Joe Burrow in Cincinnati and managed to collect 414 yards and two touchdowns last season. The Panthers hope to see greater production from him with their new quarterback.

Steelers Agree to Terms with Former Commanders LB Cole Holcomb

Pittsburgh is working to add more linebackers to take some pressure off of T.J. Watt. LB Cole Holcomb is signing a three-year deal with the Steelers. Holcomb started 48 games for Washington over the last four seasons, including a 2021 campaign where he had 142 total tackles. Pittsburgh needed another strong tackler to work with Watt in making the linebacker group more dangerous.

Titans Sign Former Jaguars DL Arden Key

Tennessee is adding another defensive player to the mix in an attempt to solidify their pass rush. DL Arden Key is signing a three-year, $21 million contract with $13 million guaranteed to join the Titans. Key is coming off two good years with Jacksonville and San Francisco, where he had 11 total sacks. Tennessee is looking to use him as a rusher on the line, but he can also be flexed inside as a DT.

Vikings Land Former Cardinals CB Byron Murphy Jr.

Minnesota has grabbed a replacement for their former starting CB Patrick Peterson. The Vikings have agreed on a two-year, $22 million contract with CB Byron Murphy Jr. Despite coming off a back injury, Murphy Jr. was a top corner available on the free agent market because of his electric speed and strong man coverage skills. Minnesota hopes that Murphy Jr. will bring that ball hawk ability to a defense that ranked 21st in team interceptions last season.

Chiefs Sign Former 49ers DT Charles Omenihu

The Chiefs may have lost Frank Clark, but that isn’t stopping them from adding more power to their defensive line. 49ers DT Charles Omenihu is signing a two-year, $20 million contract with Kansas City. After having the best statistical season of his career with the 49ers, Omenihu will be working to become a Pro Bowl DT for the Chiefs alongside Chris Jones.

Lions Add Former Bears RB David Montgomery

The Lions are bringing in a former starting running back in the NFC North, likely indicating the team will not be bringing back Jamaal Williams, the NFL’s second-highest touchdown scorer last season.

Former Bears RB David Montgomery is signing a three-year contract with Detroit that will pay him $18 million. Montgomery was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He reached over 1,000 yards rushing back in 2020 but has since fallen short of the mark the last two seasons. He’ll be working with D’Andre Swift in the backfield as the Lions look to try and win the division this season.

Titans Grab Former 49ers Guard Daniel Brunskill

Tennessee is continuing to solidify their offensive line, a big talking point among the weak points of their team. Guard Daniel Brunskill is signing a two-year deal to join the Titans after posting one of the best seasons for an offensive guard to date. After making an appearance in the AAF for the San Diego Fleet in 2019, Brunskill joined the 49ers shortly after and eventually became their starting guard. In 2022, he was on the field for 518 snaps and didn’t have a single penalty against him, nor did he allow a sack. His best highlight is watching him work against future Hall-of-Famer Aaron Donald, the most athletic defensive lineman in the league. Brunskill treated Donald like he was just one of those sleds in practice he had to push, so Aaron Donald never touched the QB when he was blocking.

The Titans now have their starting RG for next season.

Colts Sign Former 49ers DE Samson Ebukam

San Francisco is losing another piece of their lethal defense. DE Samson Ebukam is signing a three-year, $27 million max deal with the Indianapolis Colts where he will have over $11 million guaranteed in the first year.

Drafted by the Rams in the fourth round back in 2017, Ebukam has quietly built his name up as his stats continue to improve every season. He joined the 49ers in 2021 and amassed 9.5 sacks, 74 combined tackles, and 42 solo tackles over the last two seasons with the team. Ebukam will be joining a Colts team that needs help in the run game (21st in Rushing Yards Allowed) and pass rush (11th in Sacks).

Cardinals Re-Sign Guard Will Hernandez

Arizona has decided to re-sign their starting guard Will Hernandez to a two-year contract valued at $9 million. The former 2019 second round pick originally played with the New York Giants for four seasons but ended up in Arizona after failing to find his footing in New York. Hernandez put up a decent performance with the Cardinals this season, earning him a small, multi-year contract to remain a starter in Arizona.

Patriots Bring Back Safety Jabrill Peppers

New England has re-signed safety Jabrill Peppers to a two-year contract. Peppers was written off as overrated at one point in his career because of how high he was picked in the draft by the Browns (2017 1st Round), but since he’s arrived in New England, his role changed to a coverage-based safety rather than a utility player who can play all over the field. His numbers took a dip, but if New England finds a balance for him, he can quickly get back to recording high tackle numbers with higher success rates on blitz calls.

Falcons Re-Sign OT Kaleb McGary

Atlanta is bringing back their starting tackle Kaleb McGary on a three-year contract worth $34.5 million. McGary was a 2019 first-round pick by the Falcons who has gradually improved every season to the point where he’s considered one of the best tackles in the league. The market was heavy for McGary, but he chose to come back to Atlanta where he will be protecting the team’s franchise quarterback, Desmond Ridder, over the next three seasons.

Seahawks Reunite with Former DT Jarran Reed

Seattle is bringing back one of their best pass rushers in the last four years. DT Jarran Reed is signing a two-year deal worth $10.8 million to return to the Seahawks for the first time since he left in 2021 to sign with the Chiefs and then the Packers in 2022.

Before leaving, Reed was going through a strong stretch as one of the best pass rushers in the NFC by putting up 22 sacks in five seasons with Seattle. Reed goes back to where it all began where Pete Carroll and the coaching staff will try to get him back to his old form so he can anchor the interior pass rush for the Seahawks.

Cowboys Re-Sign LB Leighton Vander Esch

Dallas has re-signed their starting MLB Leighton Vander Esch to a two-year contract worth $11 million. Vander Esch is one of the top defenders on their roster and is likely their best tackler outside of Donovan Wilson. Vander Esch has struggled to replicate his incredible rookie year in 2018 when he had 140 combined tackles and two interceptions in 16 games, but he came close this year with 90 combined tackles. This signing is a sign of confidence from the front office that Vander Esch will continue to play better to get closer to that incredible rookie season.

Broncos Add RB Depth, Sign Former Bengals RB Samaje Perine

With Joe Mixon still the primary back in Cincinnati, Samaje Perine is moving on to the Denver Broncos. Perine is signing a two-year contract worth $7.5 million, where he will likely serve as the backup to Denver RB Javonte Williams. Williams is still recovering from a torn ACL and LCL in his right knee but will more than likely be ready for camp.

Perine spent four seasons with the Bengals, rushing for 941 yards and 11 touchdowns in 54 games over that span. He will be serving as the backup to the former rookie breakout star Javonte Williams. With a nice balance of speed and power running, these two could fly under the radar as one of the better running duos in the league.

Panthers Sign Veteran QB Andy Dalton

Carolina is signing a veteran QB to work as a backup for the next two seasons. The Panthers came to an agreement with former Saints QB Andy Dalton on a two-year, $10 million contract with $8 million guaranteed.

The 34-year-old started most of the games for New Orleans last season, throwing for 2,871 yards with 18 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 14 games played. Despite being labeled as a backup, Dalton managed to post a 95.8 Passer Rating, the 2nd-highest of his career, only trailing his best statistical season in 2015 with Cincinnati. He will be a valuable mentor for whichever starting quarterback the Panthers settle on in the draft.

Eagles Re-Sign All-Pro CB James Bradberry

Although many starters have left the Eagles, one of their starting corners has decided to come back. CB James Bradberry has agreed to re-sign with the Eagles on a three-year, $38 million deal, which includes $20 million guaranteed.

Bradberry was one of the few Eagles defensive players that the team was able to afford and bring back on a fair and deserving contract. The Eagles are going to need Bradberry if they’re looking to make the Super Bowl again.

Colts Trade Former All-Pro CB Stephon Gilmore to the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have the most dangerous secondary in the NFL. Dallas has agreed to trade a 2023 fifth-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts, for former All-Pro CB Stephon Gilmore. Gilmore will be joining the Cowboys secondary that features Pro Bowl CB Trevon Diggs, star safety Donovan Wilson, and the enforcer Malik Hooker. This addition makes Dallas one of the most lethal pass defenses in the NFL. Meanwhile, the trade by the Colts clears up nearly $10 million in cap space, opening room to make some key additions during free agency.

Steelers DT Larry Ogunjobi Re-Signs with Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is bringing back DT Larry Ogunjobi on a three-year contract that will give him $21.75 million in the first two years. Ogunjobi had 48 combined tackles and 1.5 sacks last season for the Steelers, but he was more predominantly known in the run defense. For Pittsburgh, there is no denying that their defense is getting better, so why would they let an efficient run defense player leave for another team? This decision was a no brainer.

Jets Agree to Deal with Former Packers WR Allen Lazard

The New York Jets are one step closer to acquiring Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. The Jets signed WR Allen Lazard to a four-year, $44 million contract with $22 million guaranteed. Lazard is a huge grab for the Jets, not only because of his abilities in the receiving game as a high volume wideout, but because he is a receiver that Rodgers wanted to play with if he were to be traded from Green Bay. The pieces are beginning to fall into place for New York.

Chargers Re-Sign Starting Tackle Trey Pipkins III

Los Angeles is bringing back one of their best offensive linemen from last season. RT Trey Pipkins III is signing a three-year deal with the Chargers to return to blocking the right side of Justin Herbert once again. The 2019 third-round pick from Sioux Falls has been improving every season he has played, and the Chargers are going to keep him around just to see how much better he can get.

49ers Lose Beloved LB Azeez Al-Shaiir to the Titans

The Titans are signing 49ers LB Azeez Al-Shaiir to an undisclosed deal. Tennessee is getting a linebacker who will start immediately and possesses supreme athleticism that allows him to blow through blockers with ease. Although he only had 44 combined tackles last season with San Francisco, it came from his limited role due to the stockpile of elite level linebackers on staff. Al-Shaiir will have his opportunity to prove what he can do with consistent playing time, similar to the performance of Shaquill Barrett, the EDGE rusher from Denver who signed with the Buccaneers and exploded for double digit sacks.

Former Eagles LB Kyzir White Agrees to Deal with Cardinals

The Eagles have lost another defensive player, this time to the Arizona Cardinals. Former Eagles LB Kyzir White has agreed to a two-year, $11 million contract with the Cardinals. White’s departure is a huge gut punch to the already weakened Philadelphia defense, especially since he was the leading tackler for the team with 110 combined tackles. The Cardinals gain a strong run defender who knows how to cut plays short and prevent explosive plays downfield.

Browns Retain LB Sione Takitaki

Cleveland is going to re-sign one of their veteran linebackers. The Browns and LB Sione Takitaki came to an agreement on a one-year, $2.6 million contract. Takitaki tore his ACL back in December, but he finished as the third-leading tackler in 2022 with 71 combined tackles prior to his injury. With the expectation that he’ll return to action before the start of the season, Cleveland felt it was onyl fair to give him a one-year contract.

Eagles Find Replacement for FA RB Miles Sanders, Sign Former Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny

It looks like the Eagles will not be bringing back RB Miles Sanders, instead opting to sign RB Rashaad Penny to an undisclosed contract. Penny, a former first-round pick from Seattle, is coming off a season-ending injury that allowed for the emergence of Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III. Penny still holds the best YPC in the league (6.0) and would be comparable to the Eagles getting prime LeSean McCoy. This was a quick and easy decision for Philadelphia, but now all eyes are on the future of Miles Sanders.

Lions Give DL John Cominsky a New Contract

Detroit has agreed to re-sign DL John Cominsky to a two-year contract for $8.5 million with $1 million more in incentives and $4 million guaranteed. Cominsky had a massive breakout year for the Lions (4 Sacks, 30 Combined Sacks), despite the fact he played through a broken thumb for most of the season. The Lions noticed the improvement from the former D-II prospect out of the University of Charleston, so they gave him a new contract to see how much higher his potential can go.

Giants Make Blockbuster Trade, Acquire TE Darren Waller from Raiders

The New York Giants have just given Daniel Jones the player he needs to take the next big step. The Raiders have traded Pro Bowl TE Darren Waller to the Giants in return for a third-round pick.

Waller, 30, has been dealing with injuries since last season, but prior to that, he put up 1100+ yards per season since 2020. Jones will now have a new weapon to throw to next season as the Giants try to win the division.

Former 49ers CB Emmanuel Moseley Signs with Lions

Detroit is making it clear they want to have the best secondary in the league. The Lions are signing CB Emmanuel Moseley to a one-year, $6 million deal. Although he is coming off injury, Moseley is expected to be ready for training camp. The duo of Cam Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley, along with Jeff Okudah and Amani Oruwariye, makes this group sneaky fast with an eye for the ball.

Steelers Sign Former Jets Guard Nate Herbig

The Steelers were looking for a potential starter on the line, but with a slim market, Pittsburgh is signing one of the Jets’ backup guards. Nate Herbig has agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with $4 million guaranteed.

Herbig, 24, was signed as a UDFA by the Eagles in 2019 and was seen as a good rotational lineman with the potential to become a starter. Now, with Pittsburgh, he’ll be working with Andy Weidl, the Steelers assistant GM who worked with Herbig in Philadelphia.

49ers Give Starting Center Jake Brandel a Long-Term Deal

San Francisco has brought back their starting center after nearly losing him to the New York Jets in a bidding war. Jake Brendel has agreed to a four-year, $20 million deal with $8 million guaranteed.

Brendel has been consistently good for them in the run and pass game, and it becomes a big factor to lock down your best linemen since the free agent market is usually very thin at the center position.

Vikings Re-Sign Starting Center Garrett Bradbury

The Vikings are retaining their starting center Garrett Bradbury after reaching an agreement on a three-year, $15.75 million deal. Bradbury has been the starter for Minnesota since 2019, Cousins’ second season on the team. The Vikings are aiming to keep things consistent, so giving Bradbury a longer contract was the best option.

Saints Bringing Back WR Michael Thomas

New Orleans needs to keep their WR group strong if they want to succeed with Derek Carr. That’s why they went and re-signed WR Michael Thomas to a one-year deal.

The former Pro Bowler has been dealing with medical issues over the last few years, which have cost him important time on-the-field. Thomas will be getting an incentive-based deal to push him to stay healthy and get back to those Pro Bowl numbers he had just four years ago.

Jaguars Safety Andrew Wingard Returning to Jacksonville

Jacksonville decided to keep one of their crowd favorite players on a discounted price. Safety Andrew Wingard is re-signing with the Jaguars on a three-year, $9.6 million contract with a guarantee of $6 million and could make up to $13.8 million.

Wingard was signed as a UDFA in 2019 by Jacksonville and has worked his way up the roster to become a starting safety for them. Although he doesn’t have the most productive numbers (37 total tackles, one interception), his coverage ability is what made him an important player for the Jaguars to bring back.

Texans Sign Former Cowboys WR Noah Brown

Houston lands a wide receiver for their offense who is coming off a good season with the Cowboys. The Texans have agreed to sign WR Noah Brown to a one-year, $3.1 million deal when free agency opens on Wednesday.

Brown was the third-leading receiver on the Cowboys offense last year, making 43 catches for 555 yards and three touchdowns as he became a pleasant surprise for Dallas as he emerged from being a backup WR to a WR3 in their high-powered offense. The Texans aim to use his speed and hands to become a quick yardage machine.

Dolphins RBs Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Agree to Stay in Miami

The Dolphins are getting their backfield together. Miami has agreed to re-sign RB Raheem Mostert to a two-year, $5.6 million contract with $2.2 million guaranteed. They’ve also re-signed RB Jeff Wilson Jr. to a two-year, $8.2 million contract. Mostert, 30, ran for 891 yards, had over 1,000 all-purpose yards, and scored five touchdowns in 16 games last season for Miami. For the Dolphins, it was important to keep their team’s top two runners since nearly every running back was a free agent this offseason. Miami hopes to keep growing their run game with Mostert, Wilson Jr., and possibly another running back they’ll be picking up in the offseason.

Cowboys Keep Safety Donovan Wilson

Dallas has signed back an important part of their secondary. The Cowboys are re-signing starting safety Donovan Wilson to a three-year contract worth up to $24 million with the first two years fully guaranteed at $13.5 million.

The former 2019 sixth-round pick got another opportunity to start last season and made the most of it, landing 101 combined tackles, the fifth highest in the league among defensive backs, and five sacks, the most by a defensive back in the league. Wilson is flexible and can play anywhere on the defense, making him one of the most valuable defenders on the market. The Cowboys noticed and made sure he would stay a Cowboy for the next few years.

Former Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers Signs with Raiders

The Patriots offense is in serious trouble. Las Vegas has agreed to a three-year, $33 million contract with former Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers. The guaranteed money is set at $21 million.

Meyers, 26, signed with the Patriots back in 2019 and had a strong year as the main receiver on New England’s roster last season. Meyers had 67 receptions for 804 yards and six touchdowns, a good year for him with the production equaling out to a valuable WR2 for interested teams. The Raiders will now have Hunter Renfrow, Davante Adams, and Jakobi Meyers in their receiving room for new QB Jimmy Garoppolo to work with.

Bucs Trade Guard Shaq Mason to Texans

Almost 24 hours after stating they were looking to trade their starting guard; the Buccaneers have found a suitor in Houston. Tampa Bay is sending Shaq Mason and a seventh-round pick to the Texans in exchange for a sixth-round pick. Trading Mason saves the Bucs $5.3 million in cap space this year, an important note since Tampa is still working to create cap space to make moves in Free Agency.

Mason, 29, was originally a member of the Patriots where he served as Tom Brady’s starting guard for five seasons. He was traded to the Buccaneers last season and was able to protect Brady once again. Mason was one of the better linemen on the injury-ridden roster last season, so he will offer some veteran experience for Houston.

Falcons Sign Former Commanders QB Taylor Heinicke

Atlanta was looking for a veteran quarterback with starting experience to backup or compete with Desmond Ridder this season, and they just found one.

Former Commanders QB Taylor Heinicke has agreed to sign a two-year, $20 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Heinicke, 29, rose to fame as the leader of the St. Louis Battlehawks in the XFL back in 2020, where he played well enough to earn a contract with Washington that same year. Not long after, he became a starter for them, throwing for 5,278 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions in 25 games played over the last two seasons.

Heinicke brings incredible wisdom and experience to the position and would be a great mentor for second-year QB Desmond Ridder.

Titans Sign Former Cowboys LB Luke Gifford

Tennessee is adding some depth to the LB position by poaching a player from Dallas. The Titans have agreed to sign LB Luke Gifford to a two-year, $4 million deal. Gifford will likely take on a special teams role in Tennessee like he did with the Cowboys, but the door is open for him to have a larger role on defense.

Pro Bowl Kicker Matt Gay Signs with Colts

The Rams have lost another Pro Bowler, but this time, it’s on special teams. Rams kicker Matt Gay has agreed to a four-year, $22.5 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts, the most money a kicker has made in free agency.

Gay, 28, is coming off one of his best statistical seasons as a kicker, going 28/30 with field goals. He didn’t miss a kick under 50 yards this season. He only missed one kick from under 50 yards in 2021, but his accuracy and leg strength earned him a Pro Bowl nomination in 2021. Now, he’s one of the highest paid kickers in the league and hopes to bring that efficiency to Indianapolis.

Cardinals Re-Sign OT Kelvin Beachum

After spending the last three seasons in Arizona, OT Kelvin Beachum is re-signing with the Cardinals on a two-year, $5.1 million deal. Beachum, 33, has been in the league since 2012 and is considered one of the better tackles in the league. For Arizona, it was cheaper to just bring back their veteran lineman than spend more on another that won’t produce the same results.

Browns Sign Veteran DT Dalvin Tomlinson

The Browns add another veteran to their defensive line who knows how to stop the run. Cleveland has reached an agreement with former Vikings DT Dalvin Tomlinson on a four-year, $57 million contract with $27.5 million guaranteed.

Tomlinson was drafted in the second round by the Giants in 2018 and has been known as a reliable run stopping defensive lineman, something Cleveland struggled with last season.

Texans Add Longtime 49ers DB Jimmie Ward

Houston is bringing in a big veteran voice to the secondary. The Texans have agreed with former 49ers DB Jimmie Ward to a two-year, $13 million contract.

Ward, 31, was picked in the first round by San Francisco in 2014 and ended up the leader of the 49ers secondary. He is the shining example of consistency, playing in at least 12 games every season since 2019. His role began to diminish on the team this past season, only producing 50 total tackles and three interceptions. The Texans will try to use him as both a safety and corner, serving as a mentor to their young star Jalen Pitre.

Seahawks Reach Agreement with DT Dre’Mont Jones

Seattle just added one of the most sought-after defensive tackles in free agency. The Seahawks have reached an agreement with former Broncos DT Dre’Mont Jones on a three-year, $48 million contract. Jones had 6.5 sacks last season from the DT position, a number that many players can not achieve. Jones is a great run stopper and knows how to find the quarterback, making him a rare talent that increased his market greatly.

Bears Add Former Titans DE DeMarcus Walker

The Bears are swinging for the fences in free agency with some of these signings, and this one is no exception. Chicago is signing former Titans DE DeMarcus Walker to a three-year deal with $14 million to be made in the first two seasons.

Since Walker got an increased role on defense back in 2019 with Denver, he’s put up 17.5 sacks. Seven of those sacks came with the Titans last season in his big breakout year. Now, Chicago will take a shot on the 28-year-old defensive end to see just how high his ceiling is.

Vikings Sign Former Saints DE Marcus Davenport

The Saints have lost another member of their defense. After five years in New Orleans, Marcus Davenport is leaving the Saints and signing a one-year, $13 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings. After an electric 2021 season, Davenport took a serious step back last season, only achieving 0.5 sacks in 15 games played. The Vikings hope to change that and help Davenport return to the dominance he had in 2021.

Saints Lose LB Kaden Ellis to Falcons

Atlanta has decided to focus on building their defense now. The Falcons are signing former Saints LB Kaden Ellis to a three-year, $21.5 million contract with $11 million guaranteed. Ellis, 27, had 78 total tackles and 7 sacks last season at the linebacker position. The Falcons will likely maximize Ellis’ ability to get to the quarterback, making this defense multidimensional in the different ways they can attack you.

QB Jameis Winston Re-Signs with the Saints

After initially signing in New Orleans to learn behind the retired Drew Brees, Jameis Winston is signing a one-year, $8 million contract to return to the Saints as a backup once again to the new starter in town, Derek Carr.

The 2015 #1 overall pick from Florida State has been in New Orleans for the past three seasons. Winston has thrown for 2,028 yards, 18 touchdowns and 8 interceptions during his two years as a starter, although both were shortened early by injuries.

Former Cardinals DE Zach Allen Signs with the Broncos

The Broncos are adding a defensive end who worked with a future Hall-of-Fame DE in Arizona to help bring some serious pressure. Former Cardinals DE Zach Allen has agreed to a three-year, $45.75 million deal with the Denver Broncos. His guaranteed money is $32.5 million.

Allen, 25, was picked in the third round by the Cardinals in 2019 and has had a slow start to his career, but last season was his best season since he entered the league. Allen had 5.5 sacks and 47 total tackles in 13 games with Arizona last year, but Denver is hoping that DC Vance Joseph can help the young pass rusher to reach his full potential.

Chargers Sign Former Vikings Pro Bowl LB Eric Kendricks

The Chargers get another linebacker to their defense, adding former Pro Bowler Eric Kendricks on a two-year $13.25 million deal to start alongside two All-Pro linebackers in Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. Kendricks registered 139 total tackles last season for Minnesota and hopes to bring that same power to the Chargers defense.

Giants Get Much Needed LB Help, Signing Former Colts LB Bobby Okereke

After a career year for Bobby Okereke, the former Colts LB is signing a four-year, $40 million deal with the New York Giants. The contract also guarantees $22 million.

Okereke was a third-round pick by the Colts in 2019, but he was working in the shadow of star LB Shaq Leonard. However, due to injury, Okereke became the feature defenseman this year, raking in 151 total tackles, 99 solo tackles, and two forced fumbles. The Giants are hoping they get the same level of aggressiveness from Okereke this season.

Panthers Bring Back Center Bradley Bozeman

Carolina has brought back all five of their starting offensive linemen. The Panthers reached an agreement with C Bradley Bozeman on a three-year, $18 million deal.

Bozeman, 28, joined the Panthers last season after spending his first four seasons in Baltimore. He was constantly impressing the coaching staff and proved to be the anchor the offensive line needed inside to protect their QB. Carolina has now locked him in on a long-term deal.

Broncos Re-Sign LB Alex Singleton

The Broncos are bringing back a big part of their linebacker group. Denver is re-signing LB Alex Singleton to a three-year, $18 million deal with $9 million guaranteed.

Singleton had 163 total tackles last season, fifth-most in the league, and 100 solo tackles, sixth-most in the league. For Denver, it was a necessity to bring him back with how much of an impact he had in preventing big chunk yardage plays.

Dolphins Land Former Titans LB David Long Jr.

The Dolphins are adding more players to their defense, this time at the linebacker position. Miami has agreed to sign LB David Long Jr. to a two-year, $11 million deal.

Long Jr., a sixth-round pick by the Titans in 2019, is coming off his most productive season where he had 85+ total tackles and two interceptions with the Titans. Miami is hoping to get even better numbers from him over the next two seasons.

Eagles Lose Safety Marcus Epps to the Raiders

The Raiders are adding an impact star to their secondary.

Las Vegas has signed former Eagles safety Marcus Epps to a two-year, $12 million contract with $8 million guaranteed. Epps started all 20 games last season for the Eagles and had 90+ total tackles and 70 solo tackles, proving to be a formidable force in the secondary for any opposing offense. He’ll be working alongside Trevon Moehrig in Vegas.

Titans Sign Former Eagles OT Andre Dillard

The Titans have found their new starter on the offensive line. Tennessee has reached an agreement with OT Andre Dillard on a three-year, $29 million contract. A first-round draft pick in 2019, Dillard has been one of the men responsible for protecting last year’s MVP candidate Jalen Hurts over the last two seasons. Tennessee now gets that same aggressive lineman to protect their aging quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Commanders Sign Former Seahawks LB Cody Barton

The Commanders add an underrated linebacker to the young group, signing Cody Barton to a one-year, $3.5 million fully guaranteed deal.

Barton, 26, registered 136 total tackles, 84 solo tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions last season for Seattle. Washington hopes he can bring that same level of production to their defense.

49ers Take Chance on Former Panthers QB Sam Darnold

After losing Garoppolo to the Raiders, the Niners have agreed to a one-year, $4.5 million deal with QB Sam Darnold.

Darnold, the former #3 overall pick, is getting another chance to prove himself, this time in the Bay Area. He finished last season throwing for 1,143 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. It’s unlikely Darnold will start, so he is more like the veteran insurance option.

Bucs Re-Sign CB Jamel Dean

The Buccaneers were able to bring back one of the best CBs in the NFL last year, according to PFF. Tampa came to an agreement with CB Jamel Dean on a four-year, $52 million deal with $26 million guaranteed.

Dean, 26, had a phenomenal season with two interceptions and 45 solo tackles despite a rough year for the Bucs.

Steelers Reach Agreement with Pro Bowl CB Patrick Peterson

The Steelers are getting reinforcements in the secondary. Pro Bowl CB Patrick Peterson to a two-year, $14 million contract with $5.85 million guaranteed.

Peterson, 32, had a career-reviving season with the Vikings, reeling in five interceptions along with 56 solo tackles. For Pittsburgh, having that veteran experience will help this team get tremendously better.

Former Bengals Safety Jessie Bates III Signs with the Falcons

The Falcons have signed safety Jessie Bates III to a four-year, $64.02 million contract, making him the fourth-highest paid safety in league history.

Bates, 26, has been one of the best productive safeties in the last few years, with 71 total tackles, 38 solo tackles, and four interceptions last season with Cincinnati. Bates is now joining a Falcons secondary in serious need of help, and they finally have their anchor.
